If you are not diabetic, then they may prescribe other stuff who knows, every doctor is different. But if you ARE diabetic, type 1, then you will have a nice prescription for insulin… good luck. :)

And why didnt you ask your doctor these questions when you saw him/her?

I think your looking for attention from others.

They send you to a nutritionist so you can learn to eat properly. The prescribe medicines if that is appropriate.

Fat, lazy people get diabetes II. Get out, get exercising and lose some weight. Your diabetes will go away without medications. Otherwise – you face a lifetime of health problems and medication.

    yeah thats 2 bad

After they tell you then depending on how high you sugar levels are you may have to stay until you levels are under control. After that the doctor will explain how to take care of your self and inform you.

If you don’t they will probably know what is wrong after tests and then they will deal with that.

    Hope this helps.

if you have diabetes, they start you on insulin and tell you to watch what u eat.

if ur not a diabetic, they will probably test for something else

My doctor looked at me and said, “You are a diabetic and will be a diabetic for the rest of your life.” Just like that. Then she wrote me prescriptions for metformin, a meter and accessories, sent me to a certified diabetes educator and dietician, had me come back every two weeks for a while for blood tests until I got my numbers down to acceptable range and then every three months for A1c tests. I have been diabetic for three years, still only on oral medication, and go every three months for blood work.

If you are not diabetic, they might recommend that you drink more water and there are meds for excess ********* or overactive bladder conditions.

    hope this helps..

After the tests, they see how much diabetic you are.
Meaning, how high are the levels of blood sugar?
It may be enough to give medicine only.
With medicine they give you a diet which again depends on the level of blood sugar.
They tell you , you can eat fruits but not sugar for instance.
They teach you to never stay hungry.
To eat all fiber and so on.
But, if the levels are too high, then they start you with insulin shots.
Then , you can eat sugar and so on, but you learn to keep track of the levels in your body.

Get the tests done as soon as possible.
Diabetes harms you in the long run if left unattended.
It ruins your veins and arteries and thus harms organs.
When you learn to look after yourself, it’s no big deal.

    EDIT
Dear, I’m diabetic for years now ( Type 1) , and so far, I don’t need insuline. Just 2 kinds of medications. Go to the doctor, the tests are not so hard, just a few blood drops. Then you’ll learn to look after yourself. Don’t wait for it to damage you. Just go and get yourself checked first.

    First off take some time…
Diabetes treatment has gotten a lot better over the years.
Listen to what life changes your doc want’s you to make and realize it’s your quality of life that you are dealing with here.
Next figure out how you can make those adjustments and how your loved ones can help you.
Get some help from other diabetics as far as lifestyle issues in trick and tips you can follow to help yourself out.
Finally take pinch of salt with any pessimism you may have as far as how your life’s going to change and try to get a real grasp on the disease thru reading.

He/She gives you that “poor bastard” look, pinches the excess fat from your tummy and says,” Where those double-doubles from in-n-out worth it?”
You cry, storm out the doctors office, buy a case of booze, contraceptives, and some *** movies, call up an ex lover, and say ***** it!
They might not be THAT good in bed, yet they are good listeners for when you need a shoulder to cry on

  12. diabetic testing

Hello Dear. I don’t think you are just looking for atttention (just brush that off), I think you are asking a question.
I have been a diabetic (Type 1 – insulin dependent) for over 23 years.
My first signs were the extreme thirst, frequent ********* etc.
After they test you(usually called a fasting or when you have to drink that awful orange thick shake), your doc will go over the test results. You will either be referred to an Internal Medicine doc or a Diabetes Educator. Do your homework on finding one and make sure they take ample time with you. They will play a key role in the control of your diabetes.
BTW, how old are you? I am going on the assumption that you are under 20.
Also, there are other things to look for that Type 1 people seem to suffer from. Studies lately have determined that Vitamin D and B-12 are low in Type 1 diabetics.
I hope my post helps and just get things checked asap. Diabetes is not a thing to mess with and the sooner you get it in control, the longer you will live and without complications. Good Luck!!!!!!

PS Learn to ignore ignorant people.

If they have ruled out diabetes they should still investigate other reasons for increased thirst and *********. Diabetes is the most well-known but it is NOT the only medical condition that causes these symptoms.

What happens depends on what type of diabetes you are diagnosed with and under what circumstances.

Many people diagnosed with type 1 diabetes are sent to the ER immediately (if they didn’t arrive there to begin with) and spend several days in the hospital getting stabilized and educated before being sent home. Usually the first week or two also invovles daily phone calls to their doctor to go over blood sugars and insulin doses.

With type 2 diabetes, typically the person is given medications and sent home the same day, no hospital involvement or daily contact with doctors. Usually there’s a follow-up visit or two several weeks later to make sure the medications are working.

Typically the symptoms for type 1 come on rather quickly, over a matter of weeks or days, and are impossible to ignore. Usually people are diagnosed with type 1 when they become so ill that they seek out medical attention. The symptoms of type 2 come on much more slowly, over years or months, and people are frequently diagnosed with type 2 “by accident” when their blood sugar is taken for routine bloodwork, although some realize that something is wrong and go to their doctor to get checked.

The doctor puts you on medication or insulin if you are a diabetic. Check with your doctor please.
