You can still be a diabetic even if test tape doesn’t show sugar in urine. Your blood glucose level has to be over 180 mg/dl to begin to show up in urine. A fasting score the indicates diabetes is 126 using two separate lab blood tests. If the lab blood test shows a BG over 100 but under 126, it will indicate pre-diabetes or borderline diabetes, these are both the same thing. Several of your symptoms are consistent with diabetes but they can also indicate something else. You’re best waiting for the blood test results. One week isn’t going to make a big difference if its diabetes and with a BG under 180, you’re not going to have a tough time getting it under control and keeping it there. I was diagnosed with a BG of 299/279 mg/dl in my two tests and I got it under control in under three months and my latest A1C scores have me at a very good non-diabetic level. Unfortunately, there is no cure for diabetes, I just have it under control.
