I am pregnant, My blood sugar is 145, is that ok?

I was feeling a little tired, dizzy, and all of a sudden my vision blurred. Someone in my family is diabetic and has a blood testing device. I checked my blood sugar and it was 145. Is that ok. I have been checked for gestational diabetes, my test came out like 108, I know that is normal, but I am afraid things may have changed since then.

I had my glucose test done a few weeks ago and my doctor told me anything over 140 is gestational diabetes. I would call your doctor first thing tomorrow and get an appointment that way you can take the glucose test again and do what is necessary if you have gestational diabetes. You may be fine but you wont know for sure until you talk to your doctor.

need to take a sugar glucose test about 2 hours after eating…you need more readings to get a average
diabetic testing
Whether or not that’s a good level depends on how long before the test you ate, and what you had eaten. If you’re concerned about your blood sugars, you should call and speak with your prenatal care provider ASAP, and get their opinion on how your glucose levels should be monitored. They may wish for you to take the Glucose Tolerance Test again, or do glucose level monitoring (using the testing device you have access to) at set times of day or after fasting (8 hours without food) for several days in a row.
Bottom line however, is that without more information, it cannot be said whether that 145 number is or is not “okay.”

I have getestational diabetes and am on meds and my doctor is wanting my numbers under 140 an hour after I eat. I would call the doc to have them check again to be safe. Good luck.
