you don''t necessarily have to be tested, unless you start feeling really tired all the time or really thirsty and go to the bathroom alot also headaches and if you feel fine you probally don't need to. if your dad has a blood meter you could check your blood once in a while tho

Very Good. I wish I was as smart as you when I was younger. In addition to what you are doing, because of diabetes, try not to indulge in alcohol. Don't get rapped up with the booze. You can actually beat this thing before its too late.

for Type-II cases

take liquid diet. skip the solid food as far as possible. sandwitch wih veg will help. shun non veg and if you must eat nonveg et only chicken boiled no added spice. salt may be tere but less. egg strit no. if you like egg white you can indulge in eating eggs upto two eggs daily. no meleted and butter. chees and diary products only on week ends and that day aoid carbohydrtes to minimum. drink water before half an hour meal.
. it is a pity tht diabetics all over the world has misunderstood the concept of eating. while eating the old timers used to sit on the floor.before eating they spend time with family and fiends and had enought time for eating. munch and munch and chew and chew and eat well enjoy the food and no work or no tension during the eating time. must my be there. but if your are worrying type your sugar level will never come down to normal. if you are excited about nothing no one can help. avoid chocolate but if there is acraving eat chocolate and skip the meal. bu the chocolate may be of 10 -15 gams after chewing the chocolate the spit the chocolate and donot swallow it. it is difficult by i have succeeded. then if you eat any thing sweet you will not relish it in a year or two. mind a year means 12 monthd 52 weeks and 365 days(approx). have a sweet life without diabeties. the doctors all over the world are minting money beacuse of diabetics who do not follow routien. they go the bank laughing. therefore control craving eat right even the best doctor canno find fault with your eating!

Yes, stay on the healthy diet, exercise regularly, and keep your weight in the ideal range according to a reputable BMI calculator. I always recommend that potential diabetics treat themselves as if they are diabetic and stick to a low fat, low carb diet. You might want to consider limiting or eliminating dairy products from your diet also. The more I read, the more it seems to be an integral part of the type two diabetic equation. In fact, the less dairy I take in, the lower my fasting blood sugar is.

Testing once a year should be sufficient. Type two diabetes onset is very gradual.

I'd say you're doing everything right. You can't control heredity, but you can control just about everything else, and it sounds like you're doing a great job. Keep up the good work!
