Diabetic?

I have diabetic (2nd one) i did ate 3 slices of pizza yesterday at 3:00 pm, i took 1 tablet of Glucophage (metformin) 850 mg, in the evening i have gluco. test level it was 98, after that i did not eat any thing till the next day in the morning, in the morning (after 18 hours) and before i have my breakfast i have new gluco. test the results was 148… may some one explain how it going up without eating? i only drank water n coffee with special sweetner?????

Perhaps the carbs in the pizza dough broke down into sugar over night.

When you ate the pizza your liver stored all the starch as it was forced to by the metformin. While you were sleeping the metformin wore off, and the stored sugar in your liver was released, raising your blood sugar. You don’t have to eat to raise it.

if you don`t eat sometimes your sugar will go up ,sometimes it drops that`s why you need to eat when you are scheduled to on your diet. stay on your diet and eat the right way and your diabetes will be in control..
