Could it be possible that I am diabetic?
Emily asked:
Ok first off for the past 3 weeks, My feet have have been swelling up and brusing, I get stinging feeling in them, I am gettin a scan done to see if I have blood clots. But then Today I have realized now my fingers are starting to swell up a little not bad though. I have been hungry non stop, and I eat, but yet I am not gaining the weight with it. I am also ****** a lot more than normal. I had took a pregnancy test and came back neg. I also just had a daughter 2 months ago and at my 6wk pp did not show signs of being preg so I know those are not pregnancy symptoms. Diabetic runs through my family, always when older though. I am 20 years old. But could it be possible that I am diabetic or starting to develope it?

It’s possible, especially as it runs in your family. The only way to find out is to get tested. I think that you can buy tests from pharmacies, but you could always get a test when you go to get that scan on your feet. Good luck! You’ll be fine.

I am not a doctor, but this sounds more like you’re retaining fluid than diabetes. You might need to be put on a diuretic (water pill) to enable your body to move the extra fluid out of your extremities and into your kidneys so you can get rid of the extra fluid by *********.
It’s POSSIBLE that you’re diabetic, but I think that it’s more likely that you’re retaining fluid, as I said.
Also, if you’re breastfeeding, that will use up a whole lot of calories, plus you’re probably much more active now than you were before. Babies take an incredible amount of work.

Unlikely these symptoms are diabetes as the doctors would have already diagnosed it while you were pregnant.
Heart problems show up as swelling in the extremities such as feet ankles hands and wrists. Be getting on back in to your doctor’s office.
Are you on a new medication?? Some of them can cause edema as well which causes heart disease.

Sounds like it could be diabetes. Either way, you need to see a doctor asap.

maybe you should start wearing diabetic shoes to better accommodate your feet. Diabetic shoes will better comfort, ventalize and support your feet. They will also help prevent future foot conditions from occurring.
