katrissa2000 asked: Of course ill always seek advice from my doctor, but I wanted to ask some people on here who might know, so i can rest tonight.
i have been having issues with my blood sugar lately (i have a home testing thing because i was diagnosed as “hypoglycemic” years ago. And while I have had a couple of low blood sugar episodes, I’m kind of confused on what is normal for a fasting blood glucose result. during the day after normal meals (i generally stay low carb..kind of always have) and my blood sugar RARELY even touches 150. My fasting blood sugar levels are a little higher than they used to be for me. It used to be that my fasting sugar was 77, and now its up to 106 ish. is this a sign im being more predisposed to diabetes? I hear that the highest for a fasting result should be 95, but I don’t know how accurate that source was.
Anyway, my fasting is usually 100 now, one hour after a normal complex carb meal is less than 120 (around 98-106) and my sugar levels at the two hour mark are either the same or a little lower.
I generally eat complex carbs, high protein, and about 5-6 small meals a day…so are my tests accurate, or do I need to buff up my carbs for three days and test AGAIN to find real glucose tolerance results?

lauren asked: Hey there, I need some help. My dad saw me eating a biscuit the other day and he said ‘all that sugar you eat, I’m suprised you’re not diabetic’ I didn’t think much of it at the time. Later when I was bored I went online and looked at symptoms of diabetes because I will admit I do eat ALOT of biscuits, cakes, sugary foods etc and don’t do much exercise, but I don’t really notice because I don’t gain a lot of weight :/ I read the symptoms and realised I had been going to the toilet a lot, having irritated hands and itching them alot, I sometimes randomly felt exhausted then I was fine about ten minutes later, my dad wants to have me tested but I dunno. I’m 15 and a girl btw. I don’t know about this, could you give me some info please and tell me what you think… thanks

frank s asked: Seems like each time I change the insulin pump tubing, it goes into the 300 range. I tested before changing it and my blood sugar was 129. Type I diabetic. How can I prevent this?

there is a happily ever after asked: I’m 27, Native American and 366 pounds. I had a pregnancy 2 years ago and I was gestational diabetic then. I recently have been diagnosed with Type 2. My A1C was 8. My blood sugars for the last 3 months tested 270. I have been getting all kinds of conflicting info! I am now on a diet. This is the longest I have ever stayed on one. I am sticking to it! I am on Metformin 500 mg and aspirin. This is the question. If I lose weight, and stick to the diet, is there a possibility that the diabetes will go away?
I’m so afraid of dying from this condition. I almost wonder if its even worth it too live with this, even if I gain control I will always be diabetic and continue to break down on the inside right? So whats the point of putting up with this? I have so many thoughts and anxietys about this. I don’t know what to do.

Emily asked: Ok first off for the past 3 weeks, My feet have have been swelling up and brusing, I get stinging feeling in them, I am gettin a scan done to see if I have blood clots. But then Today I have realized now my fingers are starting to swell up a little not bad though. I have been hungry non stop, and I eat, but yet I am not gaining the weight with it. I am also ****** a lot more than normal. I had took a pregnancy test and came back neg. I also just had a daughter 2 months ago and at my 6wk pp did not show signs of being preg so I know those are not pregnancy symptoms. Diabetic runs through my family, always when older though. I am 20 years old. But could it be possible that I am diabetic or starting to develope it?

preacherswife asked: I had gestational diabetes with my daughter 3 yrs ago, I was on metformin (1000 mg per day). Since her delivery, I was able to come off my meds because I no longer had high test levels.
I have gained about 30 lbs in the last year, and within the last 6 months, I keep getting small blisters on my feet. For the last couple of weeks I started getting really bad migraine type headaches and just feeling yucky!!!
I bought a new glucometer 2weeks ago, and I’ve been occasionally testing. ok, so someone please tell me if I should be worried.
ate dinner (grilled chicken sandwich) at 8 pm
feet started swelling pretty quickly
tested at 1:30 am (164)
re-tested 10 min later (168)
checked blood pressure (130/94)
went to bed with a massive headache
woke up at 7:00 am
tested immediately (115)
ate breakfast (scrambled eggs, bacon) at 7:30 am
Started feeling sick
Laid down to take a nap
Woke up at 12:05 and tested (167)
Feet still swollen
Overreacting or legitimate?
A normal meal for me is sandwich, fries, and large sweet tea or soda.
last night’s dinner was smaller than average for me. (i know it’s still bad)
Breakfast was an average portion (1 egg, 2 slices of bacon, no bread, no juice, black coffee)
just checked again (214)

Tracy asked: The is for Gary B….although I deeply appreciate your answer to my question….that’s exactly what it was a question. NO I did not make this call. I am a medication aide NOT a doctor. You see my mother-in-law is a doctor and a medication seeker. I simply feel she might not need the Lantus. I am aware that Lantus is a slow (not to mention very powerful) insulin. She tests her sugar 4 times a day but was taught “back in the day” to test AFTER meals. I have tried to instruct her to do a fasting sugar check in the mornings and then check her sugar again 5 to 10 minutes before meals. She refuses. She was told 30 some odd years ago she was a type 2 diabetic. She is now 88 yrs old and I feel should not be on the Lantus but rather a regular insulin and maybe a sliding scale. Do not mistake, please, that i have made this call, as I have not.
Thank you,
Tracy

kimsin asked: Could someone please suggest me what is the best time to exercise. I use to exercise around 9 or 9.30PM for 1hr or little more. Sometimes I use to test my sugar before and after the exercise. The test result is like 145-150 before and after is 105-115. I think exercise is quite helpful for controlling sugar level.
Since I come to know about my diabetic, I am exercising regularly like 5/6 times a week. So my sugar level is now in normal level.
So my exercise timing is okay or should I choose some other time.
